Gwydir Shire Council has come a long way in its first term. The workforce has moulded into a cohesive and efficient organisation. The dedication and loyalty that has been shown by all of the staff in making this happen has been quite extraordinary.  

The Council’s major roles are in the areas of policy, planning, budget allocation, level and extent of works and services to be provided. Gwydir Shire Council also works co-operatively with its community to provide a range of community building initiatives that sets us apart from our neighbouring Councils.
