As part of the Gwydir Shire
Council’s Community Engagement Strategy, we are
inviting residents to have their say
by participating in our community survey.
The information
collected will be utilised by council and
community groups when they require
knowledge or a particular skill to assist
them in their activities. It will also be a
valuable resource to help Council make
decisions regarding the community,
tourism, events, education and training,
promotion of the shire and more.
The information will be kept in a Skills and
Knowledge Register. This information will not be
shared with a third party without prior
permission

RIDING FOR THE DISABLED IN THE GWYDIR SHIRE
It has been proposed that RDA (Riding or the Disabled) be established in Warialda at the Warialda High School. RDA is a volunteer organisation that provides equine assisted activities for people with disabilities. Horse riding is a unique form of exercise and rehabilitation, the complex movement of the horse helps to improve coordination, balance, muscular development and fitness.
To make the centre a reality, community support is essential. A public meeting will be held in October (TBA) at the Warialda Visitors Centre. RDANSW board member will chair the meeting and answer any questions you may have. Everyone who is interested in helping to start this wonderful program are asked to attend. Read more »»
